Orbit for a telco-backed company
Senior backend engineer · systems & platform delivery · via an agency partner
A national-scale VOD product doesn’t live in a single repo. It needs backend depth and delivery clarity across platforms, vendors, and release windows.

The delivery shape
Telco digital products often sit at an awkward intersection. Product wants speed. Platform wants stability. Vendors want their milestones. Leadership wants a date they can announce. Those clocks rarely run at the same speed.
On Orbit — a VOD product for a telco-backed company, delivered through an agency partner — I brought prior media and VOD platform expertise into that environment, contributing as a senior backend engineer while also supporting systems and platform delivery conversations across product, platform, vendors, and leadership.
What the engagement covered
Hands-on senior backend engineering on the product stack, paired with delivery support: sequencing work across streams, coordinating technical and non-technical stakeholders, and helping keep release discipline clear on a high-stakes media product.
That mix mattered. The work was not status reporting alone, and not ticket work in isolation — it was translating platform constraints into decisions leadership could weigh, and turning business pressure into workstreams engineering could execute.
Why it matters for partners
If you are building or stabilizing a digital product inside a large operator, agency, or SI environment, this is familiar friction. Partners get someone who can contribute in the codebase and still speak delivery language with stakeholders — shaped by telco and media-scale reality.
